Cooltzine vol.4 Open Call
Cooltsalon invites submissions for the 4th collaboratively created zine, “Cooltzine”, where each page is done by different creatives, professional or amateur, as visual interpretation to the 2021 theme, “Future Now”. Where 2020 presented a collective challenge and posed shifts in the established models, rendering future planning both obsolete and even more necessary than before, we ask what does “going forward” mean now? Can one build while in a state of flux? Or is it a state of suspense and waiting, while the present is the only mode available? To participate in the “Cooltzine vol.4: Future Now” Open Call, download the…
“The Invisible Enemy” exhibition
Cooltsalon is hosting Shahar Tuchner’s solo exhibition The Invisible Enemy, 27 June-10 July: right here, on our website. Initiated and curated by the artist himself, it’s a ‘viral’ project: appearing and populating different sites, emulating the coronavirus. The content will become ‘live’ on the homepage on Saturday, 27 June, 17:00 UTC. The exhibition consists of works from different years before the beginning of the Covid-19 epidemic, which are relevant to this period of social isolation and the new day-to-day behaviour that we all need to adopt and act upon, as well as new works created during this time. The artworks range in…

You can find out more about the contributors here. The zine was born in 2018, a self-publication curated by Cooltsalon as an accessible exposure platform for creative practitioners at any career stage, the zine…
Cisco Webex and Cooltsalon: supporting ART during unprecedented time
For the second consecutive year, Cisco supports and enables the Cooltsalon platform in delivering its projects. This year, artists, curators and participants will be reunited for ‘Cooltzine’ creative conference around the topic “CHANGES”. Following the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on venue operations and attendance, we have been able to reformat the event as purely digital, allowed by Cisco’s Webex platform, with participants in each panel discussion connected in a live video transmission, and be able to not only present but interact with each other and hear audience questions in real time. There is an unprecedented increase in remote working…

Cooltzine project: going forward
We have all entered an unwritten chapter, but we’re in it together. When Cooltsalon grew as a platform and network, it was to strengthen collaboration, solidarity and unity, and to highlight how similar we are, in fact, from city to city, country to country. We: the creative practitioners, the curators, the researchers, the producers, the change-makers, the urban dwellers. We’re monitoring closely the updates surrounding COVID-19 and its impact on our industries, with the wish to have the planned conversations still take place on 30 May, and rolling out a fully online version seems very likely. The very concept of ‘Cooltzine’ is build upon digital interactions and…
